Making a Course Invitation-Only

Making a Course Invitation-Only

Setting a course to Invitation-only on edSPIRIT provides an ideal solution for instructors who want exclusive control over course enrollment. This configuration hides the enrollment option on the course’s public page, making it accessible only to students selected and added manually. This is especially useful for private training, company-specific courses, or beta testing with select users.

Step-by-Step Instructions

Access Studio: Log into Studio to manage your course settings.

Open Advanced Settings: Select the course you wish to restrict, click on the Settings dropdown, and then choose Advanced Settings.

Enable Invitation-Only Enrollment: In the Advanced Settings menu, scroll to find the Invitation Only field. Change its value from False to True to restrict public access.

Save Changes: After making this update, remember to save your settings.

Once saved, the enrollment button will still appear to the public but will not be clickable. Don’t forget to send invites to the students you’d like to grant access to, as only they will be able to enroll in this course.

This setup allows you to manage participant lists with precision and limit enrollment to only those with direct invitations.
