What is Open edX?

The Open edX platform is an open-source initiative that offers a learning platform and greatly scalable learning software technologies. This system was initially developed by the joint participation of MIT and Harvard University as a tool for online education and is currently managed by the edX non-profit organization. Through Open edX, instructors and organizations can create and host their own courses, which can be accessed by learners globally at no or a nominal cost. The platform provides various useful features like video lectures, homework assignments, peer evaluations, discussion forums, and quizzes to enhance the learners' learning experience.
