When it comes to editing your Text content,
there are two editors you may choose from:
- The Visual Editor
The Visual Editor is the simpler choice. It
allows you to easily create, edit and format your content; or add links and
images, for instance, within an environment that resembles that of a word
processing interface, without the direct use of HTML markup.
The visual editor offers an HTML viewing capability that lets users review the HTML markup and make minor
modifications to their content. Yet, this feature does not grant the control
that is otherwise offered by the raw HTML editor. Likewise, scripts or custom
formatting options are also not provided.
Adding a Text component will automatically
open the visual editor, once you choose Text and then click on Edit.
- The Raw HTML Editor
The Raw HTML editor is mostly used by those
who rather encode and enhance their content by using HTML markup straight away;
or by those who would like to make use of custom formatting and scripts
You can launch the raw HTML editor
automatically once you select the Raw HTML option and click on Edit within the Text component you have inserted.
Switching between the two editors is not
possible once you have already chosen one of them.
Within both the HTML editor and the
Visual editor, if you make use of textual content that is inserted from an
external source, it is essential to inspect the
copied content thoroughly. As for both editors, “straight” quotation marks and
apostrophes are needed. However, various applications tend to alter the styling
of these punctuations from “straight” to “smart” or “curly”.
