Open edX Quince Release

Some of the changes in the Quince version are as follows:

Experiences for Learners

  1. New Discussion Sidebar
The new Discussion Sidebar allows learners to interact with forums using a collapsible sidebar that accompanies course units, replacing the use of the discussion component.
Note: If you want to use the new discussion sidebar in your previously created courses, refer to Content->Page and Resources->Discussion Settings and enable the edx (new) option.

Experiences for Instructor

  1. Studio UI Changes
Several user interface changes, including color codes, icons, and other updates, have been implemented in the Studio to improve the visual experience.
  1. Copy and Paste Course Content
Instructors can now copy units and paste them both into the same and different courses.
If you want to find which unit and course have been copied to your clipboard, you can see the "Where is my clipboard" phrase wherever you paste the unit. Hovering over this phrase will show you the unit and course name.
  1. ORA Grading Settings
The ORA grading experience provides flexibility until each peer's required number of gradings is achieved and its settings option has been added to the Studio->Content->Page and Resources->Open Response Assessment Settings.

edSPIRIT New Update

Experiences for Administrators & Operators

  1. Indigo Theme
A new version of the Indigo theme has been released in some parts of the application to improve the visual experience.
  1. New Footer Settings
The footer setting enables you to design your footer and add a logo or your social media links. All Footer settings can be managed through your Admin Console->Landing Page->Footer Section.
You can see your applied configurations in all parts of your platform. To hide the Open edX or edSPIRIT logos, refer to this link and follow the steps:
  1. New SSO Settings to hide Auth MFE
New SSO settings allow your learners to register for your organization only through your desired SSO settings and not by the edSPIRIT login or registration page.
  1. Supporting Traditional Chinese (Cantonese) Language
Traditional Chinese (Cantonese) Language is now fully supported on edSPIRIT to improve users' overall experience.
Moreover, some improvements have been applied in this release, such as:
  1. Billing Logo: Changing the logo didn't affect the page where your learners can see their order history records, which is resolved now.
  2. Twitter icon: Changing all Twitter links to "X".
  3. Logout: Redirecting to the correct page after logging out.
