Creating a Subsection

Creating a Subsection

To create a subsection within your desired section you must:
1. Enter the course outline. Next, click on New Subsection inside the section of your choice.

At the bottom of the section, you are then able to see the new subsection with its name selected.

2. Define a name for the new subsection.

3. If it is to be presented at a later time than the containing section itself, you are also required to set a released date for the subsection.

   a. In the subsection box, click on the Configure icon to open the Settings dialog box.

   b. Within the Basic tab, set the release date and time for the subsection.

Release date settings in the Basic tab are visible only if the course creator has created the course in the Instructor-Paced mode. This mode does not exist in the Self-Paced mode.

4. Given that the subsection needs to be graded, you are required to determine the type of assignment while setting the due date; all from within the Basic tab.

5. To change the visibility of the subsection and/or assessment results, select the Visibility tab.

6. Click Save.

You are then ready to create units within your subsections.
